To show participant location, icastPro uses an IP Geolocation database. It takes the public IP address of the viewer and does a lookup when the session is created, once a viewer connects.
On the Stats tab, in the director, the audience location is displayed at a glance with a map and the countries with the most users connected.

It is also possible to have a more detailed view in the Sessions tab.

What might cause an incorrect location? Possible causes:
- The viewer might be connected on a corporate network (or via VPN) and the network's egress point (exit onto the internet) is in a different location.
- The IP address of the user swtiched from one internet backbone provider to another, or the IP switched physical location, and our database provider has yet to update this change. Our IP provider updates IP location data weekly.
